This policy (together with Our terms of use and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which any personal data We collect from you, or that you provide to Us, will be processed by Us.   1. INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT FROM YOU

    1.1 We may collect and process the following data about you:

This includes information provided at the time of registering to use Our Site, posting material in the forums or blogs or requesting further service, products or downloads. We may also ask you for information when you enter a competition or promotion, and when you report a problem with Our Site.

  1. IP ADDRESSES AND COOKIES

2.1 We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to Our advertisers. This is statistical data about Our users' browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

2.2 For the same reason, We may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer's hard drive. They help Us to improve Our Site and to deliver a better and more personalised service. They enable Us:

j) We do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to our advertisers, but We may provide them with aggregate information about our users (for example, We may inform them that 500 men aged under 30 have clicked on their advertisement on any given day). We may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers reach the kind of audience they want to target (for example, women in SW1). We may make use of the personal data We have collected from you to enable Us to comply with our advertisers' wishes by displaying their advertisement to that target audience.

5. DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

5.1 We may disclose your personal information to any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 1159 of the UK Companies Act 2006.

6.1 You have the right to ask Us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will usually inform you (before collecting your data) if We intend to use your data for such purposes or if We intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms We use to collect your data. You can also exercise the right at any time by updating the preferences in your Promethean Partner Portal account.

6.2 Our Site may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks, advertisers and affiliates. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that We do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. 7. CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

Information we collect and how we use it:

We offer a number of services that do not require you to register for an account or provide any personal information to us. In order to provide our full range of services, we may collect the following types of information:

  • Information you provide - When you sign up for a Promethean Account or other Promethean service or promotion that requires registration, we ask you for personal information (such as your name, email address and an account password). For certain services, such as our online shop, we also request credit card or other payment account information which are maintained in encrypted form on secure servers owned by our Merchant Vendor Protx. We may combine the information you submit under your account with information from other Promethean services or third parties in order to provide you with a better experience and to improve the quality of our services. For certain services, we may give you the opportunity to opt out of combining such information.
  • Promethean cookies - When you visit Promethean, we send one or more cookies - a small file containing a string of characters - to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. We use cookies to improve the quality of our service by storing user preferences and tracking user trends, such as how people search for resources. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some Promethean features and services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled.
  • Log information - When you use Promethean services, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website. These server logs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.
  • User communications - When you send email or other communication to Promethean, we may retain those communications in order to process your enquiries, respond to your requests and improve our services.
  • Links - Promethean may present links in a format that enables us to keep track of whether these links have been followed. We use this information to improve the quality of our customised content and advertising.
  • Other sites - This Privacy Policy applies to web sites and services that are owned and operated by Promethean Ltd. We do not exercise control over the sites displayed as search results or links from within our various services.
